Google Feature Helps Children Stay Safe Online
Google
recently announced a new feature of its search engine designed to help
parents and teachers keep children safe while online. The feature allows
SafeSearch, Google's mechanism for blocking adult images and Web sites
from coming up in search results, to be locked at the strictest filtering
level. When locked, it cannot be turned off without typing in a password.
In addition, when the restriction is in place, four colored balls appear
at the top of the screen, enabling teachers and parents to see from across
the room that the protection is in place. More
